Presiding Bishops

Bishop Michael Eugene Ford, Sr., is the “set angel” and overseer for all the entities under the banner of Christ Temple Ministries. He has served as the Senior Pastor of the Christ Temple Christian Life Center for the past seventeen years. Third, in a succession of three God –appointed leaders in 73 years, Bishop Ford’s servant-leadership, allegiance to God and to the Apostolic message has been influential and instrumental in allowing the Holy Spirit to establish “biblical order” within the lives of the believers who call Bishop Ford and Christ Temple their spiritual covering! The church has a membership of 1000 and provides a multiplicity of urban and global inreach and outreach programs.

Bishop Ford experienced Christian conversion in 1973 under the ministry of the late Bishop Robert L. Little. He was called into ministry service ten months after joining the Christ Temple family. Bishop Ford is the 2nd Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith Association, Incorporated (PCAF). He serves as the Diocesan Bishop of the Twenty Second Episcopal District of the PCAF, which encompasses the state of Kentucky. He also serves as the Council Bishop of the Tri-State Council of the PCAF that is comprises the states of Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. An upperclassman of the College of African American Pentecostal Bishops; Bishop Ford was appointed by Metropolitan and Archbishop J. Delano Ellis as, “Titular Archbishop” on their most recent Papal visit to Rome. Bishop Ford has relentlessly endeavored to serve God with a spirit of excellence in both the spiritual and secular arena.

Bishop Ford is the former “Drug Czar” for the Louisville/Jefferson County A.W.A.R.E. Coalition, a joint city and county agency dedicated to developing a comprehensive and community-wide drug control strategy to effectively impact drug use, abuse and chemical dependency. For his tireless efforts for the education, treatment and eradication of community embedded substance abuse, in 1991, Bishop Ford received the highest civilian award that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is authorized to confer.

Dr. Ford is a Viet-Nam era veteran, having served as a Combat Medic in the Republic of Viet-Nam from 1971-72. He holds the rank of Chaplain Lt. Col in the auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Bishop Ford earned his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky; his Masters of Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA.; Masters of Divinity from Oral Roberts School of Missions and Theology. He holds a Doctorate of Divinity from Christ United Theological School in Cleveland, Ohio. Currently, he is an Oral Roberts University 2009 candidate for the Doctorate of Ministry with a specialization in “Islamic Studies.” He is the former President of the West Louisville Ministerial Alliance and former Vice President of the Louisville Pastoral Alliance. In 2004, he received a Governor’s appointment as a Martin Luther King Day Commissioner. Finally, Bishop Ford has served as the Religious Advisor for the University of Louisville Football Team and Women's Basketball Team. He has also held positions as chaplain with the Jefferson County Police Department, and Humana University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Bishop Michael E. Ford, Sr. and his wife Wanda have been married for thirty- seven years and they have five children, and thirteen grandchildren. They are very much loved and appreciated by their family, friends, and congregation of the Christ Temple Christian Life Center.
