Presiding Bishops

Pastor, humanitarian, husband, father, broadcaster… the ministry of J. E. Moore reaches far and beyond the boundaries of normal ministers touching the lives of those in his church, community and around the country.

Bishop J. E. Moore was born in Galena, Kansas, May 24, 1939 where he attended the Galena Elementary & graduated from Galena High School. In 1958 he moved to Joliet before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.

While there, he served with the Military Police and played in the Drum and Bugle Corps. He graduated from the Field of Music School, and received an honorable discharge February 26, 1961.

Before enlisting he met Tecola Williams. February 17, 1962, he was united in holy matrimony to Tecola Williams. From this union, five beautiful children were born and seven grandchildren.

On October 8, of 1965, Dr. Dennis Rayford Bell formed Christ Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith in his office at Christ Temple Church in Chicago. With Bishop Moore as leader in this new found responsibility, J.E. went on a fervent study, graduating with a BA from Berean Christian College, BA from Governor State University, MA from Moody Bible Institute, Th. M from Trinity Theological Seminary, MA from Moody, Ph. D from the International Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from the American Seminary.

J.E. was ordained with ministerial (Elder) credentials July 1967; appointed to District Elder March of 1973; was appropriated as Bishop March 1994; was nominated elected Assistant Presiding Bishop of the International Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, then appropriated July of 2000.

Bishop Moore was elected Presiding Prelate of the International Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith Association, Inc. appropriated July of 2008. As a community leader, he served the Joliet area as a board member for Big Brothers; as a board member for the YMCA, as an Advisory Board Member for Joliet School District 86, and as Advisory Board member for Will County. He now has added serving as a member of the Unity CDC and as Advisory to the Black Lawyers Association of Will County.

In addition to all this, Bishop J.E. is known for serving the PCAF as Convention Manager, managing the Annual and Biannual meetings of the National Conventions. He also served as Treasurer for the Midwest Apostolic Bible College in the Joliet and Chicago area, where he is currently the professor of Hermeneutics. He is known to some as the instructor who also taught Greek, Homiletics, Theology, Church Psychology, and Church Administration. Bishop Moore gives honor and praises to the Lord Jesus Christ for the privileges of salvation and service.
